Urbanite Magazine asked me to shoot a feature on Destination Dining around Baltimore for their February Issue. I was so excited when I got the assignment description because I enjoy good food and dining out at beautiful restaurants almost as much as taking photos. The three cities featured were Frederick and Cambridge, Maryland and Philadelphia.

As aspiring foodies, Russell and I watched the entire season of Top Chef on Bravo, so I was thrilled to have the chance to meet and shoot finalist Chef Bryan Voltaggio at his successful restaurant Volt. Guests can dine in the kitchen, right next to the action. They also have regular dining rooms if you can’t stand the heat. In Cambridge, Maryland I met Chef Campbell at the charming French Bistro Poplar. Lastly, Philadelphia delighted the senses with Chifa and their ceviche. I visited another restaurant not featured in the article, but one I was curious about, and where I sought refuge from the cold: Parc on Rittenhouse Square. Their rich, french style hot chocolate was fantastic. If you live in the Baltimore, Philly area, I definitely encourage you to check out these fine spots. What are some of your favorite destination restaurants?
You can check out my other recent features for Urbanite: Friday Knight, and Sour Beef. Be sure to pick up a copy of the new issue once it hits stands in February!
