As the sun begins to fade on this New Year’s Eve, I’m thinking back on all the wonder that has been 2009. I am in awe of how far things have come, and how many special people have helped me to the place I am today. Thank you to all of my 2009 brides and grooms for trusting, and inviting me to be a part of your big day. I hope you look back on your photographs many years from today, and still smile at all of the moments that made up your first day of marriage. Looking forward, thank you to all of my 2010 couples – this year will be incredible, and all of your planning will pay off as your magnificent day approaches.
I have so much gratitude for my amazing network of peers and mentors in this fantastic field, thank you for helping me become what I am today, and always encouraging my endless dreams for the future. And last but not least, I give many thanks to my family and my fiance Russell as we turn the page into 2010, this is our year!
The other day I came across a blog post by Sean Low, of The Business of Being Creative. He shared this quote from Rilke that just really struck a chord loud and clear with me.
“Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves like locked rooms and like books that are written in a very foreign tongue. Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will find them gradually, without noticing it, and live along some distant day into the answer.”
What are you reflecting upon from 2009? What are you excited about as we enter into 2010?
